Dear Parents,

 Pastor Bertram, The Board of Education, the Sunday School Teachers and I have been working hard to try to come up with a plan for the Christian Education of the children at Lord of The Lakes. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all children pre-school through 12th grade to participate in a form of Christian education during the week. What we have come up with is not what is considered traditional “Sunday School” but it is an opportunity for all children to learn about the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We need to begin somewhere, and our hope is that we can soon return to what we are familiar with, but for now we feel that this is the best opportunity and will SAFELY serve our congregation.

We have decided that Wednesday evenings will be a time for Christian Education (KOOL KIDS Plus) for all children (pre-school – 12thGrade).  This will not be the same format as Sunday school. The lessons will follow the Sunday School curriculum from the previous week and will serve to reinforce that lesson though Devotion/Bible Story, Games/fellowship, Service projects/crafts. 

We will begin the year with outdoor activities (weather permitting). Here are some rules that we will ask that everyone follows:

* KOOL KIDS PLUS will begin promptly at 6pm and will end promptly at 7pm.
* Please do not drop your children off early and please pick them up on time.
*When we meet inside everyone is required to wear a mask.
*As for now the Game Room will be closed.
*All materials (including Bible verses) will be printed.  Children do not need to bring anything.
*Please be sure your student is dressed properly (for weather and games/running).
*If your student did not attend school because of illness or if they are not feeling well please do not send them to KOOL Kids Plus.
*We will have prepackaged treats at the end of the evening.
*If you enter the building to pick your student up please wear a mask, if you wait outside please practice distancing.

The children will be breaking into groups and teachers are assigned as follows:

7th – 8th grade                                                Curt Heacox & Brad Johanson

KOOL Kids Plus begins on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
Please register your child/children (lordofthelakes.org/forms) by September 4, 2020.

 Registration is very important for planning purposes. We will need to know how to appropriately distance children, how many children we can expect, and prepare the correct amount of material for each night.  We will evaluate how this model is working and will make adjustments as necessary.
